WHL 2023 U15 Draft

In total, there were 232 players drafted in the 2023 WHL U15 Draft, with 44 players from Saskatchewan selected.

Congratulations to the 7 HRI players drafted:

  • Dryden Deobald, Defense, 64th overall to the Kamloops Blazers
  • Jonah Sivertson, Centre, 71st overall to the Prince Albert Raiders
  • Cash Lanigan, Centre, 83rd overall to the Portland Winterhawks
  • Ethan Dundas, Forward, 133rd overall to the Calgary Hitmen
  • Sutton Verot, Forward, 141st overall to the Medicine Hat Tigers
  • Eli Johnson, Defense, 154th overall to the Prince George Cougars
  • Keaton Lesperance, Forward, 162nd overall to the Swift Current Broncos

For those that did not have their names called, do not give up as over 20% of players on WHL rosters were never drafted.  There are many great players from Regina that were never drafted:

  • Tyler Bozak
    • Played 2 years for NCAA Division 1 University of Denver Pioneers
    • 2019 Stanley Cup Winner
    • 13 seasons in the NHL (Toronto Maple Leafs and St. Louis Blues)
  • JC Lipon
    • Played 4 years with the Kamloops Blazers
    • Member of the 2013 Canadian World Junior team
    • 3rd round draft pick of the Winnipeg Jets
    • Currently playing for the Staubing Tigers (DEL)
