Follow up to Special Meeting

Dear Hockey Regina Members,

On behalf of the HRI Board, I am pleased to report that our recent special meeting had 145 voting members and some 20 non-voting attendees. As a result of that meeting we now have a fully staffed board of directors and other members have volunteered their assistance for several committees. The board is already underway planning for the 2014/15 season. The board and committees will work on better communications for and about the HRI program. In addition, we will be focusing upon developing our female program, goal-tending, coach/player development and bylaws/regulation review.

For the 2014/15 season your board members and their responsibilities are as follows:

Larry Wees – Director Suspensions

Ben Neufeld – Director Evaluations / Co-Chair Evaluations Committee

Tom Millette – Director Tournaments / Chair Bylaws and Regulations Committee

Les Boey – Director Female / Co-Chair Female Committee

Andrea Hoffman – Director Female / Co-Chair Female Committee

Coty Hollinger – Director Initiation / Co-Chair Communications and Marketing

Brent Bobyck – Director Novice / Co-Chair Coach & Player Development

Christie Bjolverud – Director Atom / Co-Chair Communications and Marketing

Courtney Birnie – Director Peewee / Co-Chair Evaluations Committee

Dennis Cooley – Director Bantam / Chair Goaltending Development

Rick Hagglund – Director Midget

For those of you that have volunteered for committees please expect contact within a couple of weeks to confirm a time for an initial meeting. For others folks considering sharing some time, we will continue to need assistance throughout the year. Please consider sharing a little of your time with the hockey community. In closing, a gentle reminder to get your child’s on-line registration completed. We are already finalizing evaluations schedules for September.
