Hockey Regina Alumnus on Olympic team

Regina will be well represented on the 2014 Canadian Olympic team with the announcement of Ryan Getzlaf and Chris Kunitz making the team.


Chris Kunitz
+  Played minor hockey in Regina in the Royals zone (NW)
+  Played two seasons in the SJHL with the Melville Millionaires
+  Played 4 years in the NCAA with Ferris State Bulldogs where he was All-CCHA 1st team All-Star in 2001-02 and 2002-03
+  Signed with Anaheim as an undrafted free agent in 2003
+  Won a Stanley Cup with Anaheim Ducks (2007) and Pittsburgh Penguins (2009)
+  Was a member of the Team Canada Silver Medal team at the 2008 World Hockey Championship
+  First team All-star in 2013



Ryan Getzlaf

+  Played minor hockey in Regina in the Y¦s men zone (N)
+  Drafted by into the WHL by the Calgary Hitmen in 2000, where he played 4 seasons
+  Member of the 2004 (Silver) and 2005 (Gold) Canadian Junior team
+  Drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round of the 2003 NHL draft
+  Won a Stanley Cup with Anaheim in 2007
+  Was a member of the 2010 Gold Medal Olympic team 
.  Was a member of the Team Canada Silver Medal team at the 2008 World Hockey Championship
