Regina Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2012

Regina Sports Hall of Fame President, Tom Shepherd, announced that Graham Tuer, Brandy West(McMaster) and the 1982/83 Regina Pat Canadians will be inducted into the Regina Sports Hall of Fame. The Tenth annual induction ceremony is slated for Thursday, October 4, 2012, inside Queensbury Salon A at Evraz Place. Joining Graham, Brandy and the Pat Canadians in this years induction class are Gary Mather (builder; football); Bernice and Matt Johner (builders; softball) and Doug McCaw (athlete; bowling).

The ceremony starts at 7 p.m. with snacks and a cash bar. Tickets cost $25 each and $15 for children (12 and under). Tickets are available from RSHF directors and chair Robin McDougall (

Garham Tuer (bio)
- involved in hockey for 50+ years; coached and/or managed hockey teams at every level of minor and junior hockey in Saskatchewan
- member of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League board since 1992
- helped creat provincial hockey's development model in 2007
- served as assistant general manager/director of player personnel with Regina Pats
- manager of Pat Canadians for national championship in 1987/88
- scouted for numerous WHL teams and NHL Central Scouting
- Regina Pats builder recognition in 2008
- WHL Distinguished Service Award in 2009/10
- Sask Sport volunteer of the year in 2008
- Hockey Regina Bantam AA Challenge tournament named in his honour in 2007

- Air Canada Cup National Midget Champions
- team included coaches Bill Liskowich and Barry Trapp; manager Stew MacDonald; trainers Ron Blerot, Todd Liskowich and Trevor Dillabough; players Jason Belisle, Mike Brannen, Ron Bromberg, Brett Burlock, Curtis Fayant, Brent Fedyk, Kevin Herom, Darren Hector, Tim Iannone, Frank Joo, Kelly Murphy, Len Nielsen, Brad Obridgewitsch, Selmar Odelein, Rob Petruic, Kenton Rein, Jim Ruhland, Dean Shaw, Troy Volhoffer, Brian Wilkie
- finished atop SMAAAHL regular-season standings with 26-2-0
- Iannone, Nielson, Burlock, Fedyk, Volhoffer and Odelein finished 1-6 in league scoring
- beat Notre Dame in league final to advance to 12-team Air Canada Cup in Ste. Foye Que
- Defeated Toronto Don Mills 4-3 in Qtr-final, Thunder Bay 6-2 in Semi-final and Ste. Foye 5-4 in the final

Brandy West (McMaster)
- began attending U of R in 1997, before formation of women's hockey program
- joined CIAU program when developed  in 1998/99 and became the Cougar's first captain
- named Canada West rookie of the year and player of the year in 1998/99
- conference outstanding player in 2000 and 2001
- five time Canada West All-star and three time All-Canadian
- CIAU player of the year in 2001
- U of R all-time leading scorer with 80 goals and 133 points
- inducted into the U of R Sports Hall of Fame in 2001
- currently assistant coach of the Cougars.
