Volunteers needed/Community Service hours

Aug. 19, 2013

Good Day Hockey Regina,

Evaluations for the 2013/14 season are just around the corner. This is the biggest area we need assistance with early in the season. A night of volunteering for evaluations will ensure  that well over 100 players are checked in for evaluations, have jerseys and are on the ice on time.

During evaluations, many parents bring their player in, wait during the skills/scrimmage and take their child home v spending over 2 hours at the rink in the process. An extra set of hands hanging up jerseys after a skate and checking kids in can also be done in the same 2 hours at the same rink!

An afternoon at a tournament desk helps our out of town competitors know which rink to go to, where services are available and provides a smiling face to talk to who can provide them some helpful information. A few hours worth of time can keep an entire tournament running smoothly.

Please make some time to help us out this season.  For those of you with older kids (bantam and midget), consider having your child out helping with the evaluations for the novice, atom and peewee divisions. This is a great opportunity to help them develop a sense of community.

Please e-mail Micheal Ah-Fat at michaelahfat@hotmail.com to volunteer a few hours for evaluations or for events throughout our hockey season - every little bit of volunteer time helps us as a hockey community.

Respectfully,

Stephen Eger,
