Subject: Technical Director 
Hockey Regina Incorporated is seeking applications for persons interested in the position of Technical Director.
This is a contract position, renewable on an annual basis upon the mutual agreement of the successful applicant and HRI..
Term:  Negotiable

Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Hockey Regina Inc. and the Executive of the Board of Directors of Hockey Regina Inc.
(1)  Works with coaches as required, on and off the ice, to educate them on all aspects related to effectively coaching a hockey team. This responsibility may include conducting coaching clinics.
(2)  Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on coach and player development
(3)  Attends to practices and games and makes assessments on the abilities of coaches from the Initiation to Midget AAA divisions, as directed by the HRI Board. 
(4)  Provides feedback to the Board of Directors on the skills and abilities of coaches in Hockey Regina.
(5)  Assists in resolving issues between coaches, players, parents, and the HRI Board. 
(6)  Assists in coach recruitment and retention.
(7)  Assists Directors with interviewing prospective coaches, and the coach selection process.
(8)  Makes recommendation to the Board of Directors on short-listing and appointment of coaches.  .
(9)  Other such assigned duties as related to coaching.
Competencies:
(1)  Good knowledge of instructional techniques.
(2)  Good knowledge of Hockey Regina Bylaws, Regulations, and Policies.
(3)  Good working knowledge of email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
(4)  Good Knowledge SHA and Hockey Canada rules and regulations.
(5)  Training: Coaching experience is a requirement for this position and preference will be given to candidates who have attained Developmental Levels in Coaching. 
(6)  Instructing: The ability to demonstrate skills or impart knowledge to others, both on the ice or in a classroom setting.
(7)  Administrative:  The ability to develop or review routines and procedures to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
(8)  Communication Skills:  The ability to portray a, professional and positive image of Hockey Regina (includes written and verbal communication and professional appearance.)
(9)  Must be highly motivated, a definite self-starter, with good time management skills.
